Walkers Information Sheet

Welcome to our 5th Navigation Walk, raising funds for 4 excellent charities, and thank you for your support. We hope you have a very enjoyable walk Please follow the advice provided in our Health and Safety Advice Sheet and follow the guidance of our marshals.

PLEASE DO NOT USE LOCK GATE BRIDGES AT ANY TIME

 

Leaving the Walk

In the event that you need to leave the walk before arriving at your chosen finish point please let a marshal know, and if one is not readily available please contact us on one of the numbers listed below.

First Aid

We have first aiders available to us along the route. If you need one contact one of the numbers below.

Hazards

Please be aware that on the canal from Marsden to Huddersfield there are some particularly low bridges that pose a potential risk for hitting your head.

Litter

Each marshal will have a bin sack in which you can dispose of any rubbish.

Welfare

Refreshments and toilets are available at a number of locations along the route marshals should be able to point you in the right direction.

Sponsorship Money

Hopefully you will have raised lots of sponsorship for your walk and it will be appreciated if you could send it to us via the Paypal facility on our web site, or by cheque to the Registration Officer, Carldon House,1A Hopton Lane, Mirfield, WF14 8JT, as soon as possible. Cheques should be payable to Mirfield Rotary Club.

GIFT AID

We also need your GIFT AID sponsorship forms which can be mailed to the Registration Officer or scanned and sent by email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. With Gift Aid we can claim 25% extra from HMRC. This added over £2000 to the total raised last year.

We will email details of the amount raised at regular intervals and also provide details for publishing in the local press, also see www.rotarynavigation.co.uk
